Organic Brain Disorder:-

• Organic brain disorder or organic psychotic disorder is a demonstrable organic pathologic condition affect the brain.
• Organic brain disorder mainly affect the memory or consciousness.
• According to ICD10 organic brain disorder are classify into chapter F00 to F09.
• According to indian classification organic brain disorder are classify into 2 categary :-

1.  delirium 
2. dementia 

• The symptom of organic brain disorder are develope due temporary and permanent damege of brain and interfere cerebral function.
• Impairment of cerebral function lead to deficit memory,attention, thinking.
• Memory attention or thinking is the cognitive function of the brain so it is also know as organic cognitive disorder.

These cognitive function decide the behaviour and function of brain do it is also known as organic mental disorder.

Psychotic symptom are seen into the organic brain disorder it is known as organic.

Defination of organic brain disorder(OBD) :- 

Organic mental disorder are a group of disorder by demonstrable pathological condition and characterized by clouded consciousness impaired attention, impaired memory, distrub thinking.

Cause of organic brain disorder(OBD) :- 

• Head injury
• Infection into the brain 
• Toxin 
• Substance related disorder
• Metabolic disorder
• Endocrine disorder
• mutritional difficiency 

Types of organic brain disorder(OBD) :-

Acc to indian classification:-

1-Delarium 

2-Dementia

1- Delerium:- 

It is acute, reversible state of disorientation with confusion and clouding consciousness.

It is most common organic brain disorder.

Cawe of delarium:- 

• Substance abuse or withdraw is the most common cawe of delarium.
• General medical attention like infection, endocrine disease.
• Overdose of druges.
• Truama and injury.
• Infection.
• Tumar.

Sing and symptoms:-

• Difficulty in attention
• Jelwin and hellucination
• Dicrease reasoning and goal directed behaviour
• Impaired memory 
• Disorganised thinking 
• Flight of idea 
• Altered consciousness

2-Dementia:- 

It is the progressive or irreversible loss of memory and disorientation with the full alternates

or 

It is the chronic organic brain disorder and irreversible decline in the mental function like memory thinking in a state of full alertness.

Cawe:- 

• The most cawe of dementia is alzhimer disease it is also known as primary dementia.
• Dementia associated with other disease or problem like cerebral trumo also known as secondary dementia.
• Defeciency of vitemin 

Sing and symptom:- 

• Unable to speak clearly
• Impairment in thinking and  judgement 
• Naglent personal  Hygiene and oppearence
• Jnability to carry out motor activity.
• Change into the personality like social isolation paranoid.

Treatment of organic brain disorder (OBD) :- 

• The treatment are depend on the patno-phyciology of disease.
• Provide symptomic treatment. 
• The treatment are based on etiology of brain organic disorder.
• Administer tacrine to improve coognative function in some patient.
• To provide the shortdurationn talk and goal orinted activity.
• To maintain personal hygiene.
• Propose the social support system and family support system.
• Give the more attention of the pt and the site of hospital and home.
• Provide vitamin diet to fullfill the vit deficiety.
• Assist into the daily activity.
• Provide the individual psychotherapy behaviour psychotherapy and Coganatic psychotherepy.
