What is the introduction of depression


Depression is a common most psychiatric disorder.

It is also know as common cold of mental illness.

Depression is a temporary Stage of sadness of mind.


Every individual , every age group suffer from depression.

The cause of depression are defferent for every individual for example depression by claimants , depression by unsuccessful , depression by responsibility depression by life events.


    What is the defination of depression

    Depression is characterized by loss of interest in daily activities that affects social and occupation function for a long time.

    What is the type of depression

    (1) MILD DEPRESSION :-

    The duration of depressive symptoms are two weeks.

    It cause minor impairment in physical and psychological function.

    (2) MODERATE DEPRESSIVE :-

    The depression symptoms are develop for three (3) to six (6) week and it cause impairment in psychological function.

    (3) SEVERE DEPRESSION :-

    Severe depression means depression symptoms are impairment in psychological functioning and physical functioning and it interfere daily activity of an individual and the duration of depressive symptoms is up to to six (6) weeks.

    (4) SEVERE DEPRESSIVE WITH PSYCHOTICS SYMPTOMS :-

    Severe depressive with psychotic symptoms characterised by abnormal or decrease thought process and delusion and hallucinations are occur with depressive symptoms.

    (5) POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION :-

    Postpartum depression are start after 48 hours of delivery and it is reach an pick level between 3 - 5 days.

    With in  two weeks decrease the depressive symptoms and disappear with the the psychological support .

    It is also known as blue depression or maternal blue depression.

    (6) INVOLUTION (HARMONAL) DEPRESSION :-

    Depression are related to harmonal changes and functional changes during the menstrual (periods) cycle.

    (7) SECONDARY DEPRESSION :-

    Depression due to other known mood disorder.

    (8) POST TRAUMATIC DEPRESSION :-

    Depressive episode are post experience of traumatic event.

    (9) SEASONAL DEPRESSION :- 

    When change into the climate or season our mood not adjust with the there changes.

    1. Impaired social interaction to the society related to social isolation. 
    2. Self care deficit related emotionally ill and loss of intrest in daily life activity. 
    3. Risk of injury to self related loss of the valu of life. 
    4. Distrub sleeping pattern related to unwanted thoughts and depressed mood. 
    5. Distrub dressing sense related to self care deficit.
